When we started doing wedding photography in birmingham we thought long and hard about weddings that we'd seen in the past and what could be done either differently or even better?
The first thing that we kept coming back to was timing. As a guest it seems so long! We knew that we wanted to speed it up but we also didn't want to compromise on the quality of the images. The solution? Er... well there were two in the end.


Solution 1
Have a dedicated photography organiser. Having someone who's not behind the lens lining up the potential shots, working with the ushers and best man to get the people we need is utterly essential. It means that the more formal shots (if required) can be undertaken quickly and without fuss. Also the arranging can be done by the organiser with a smile and it's a great to engender cooperation without ducking behind a lens and losing eye contact. A clipboard tends to help aswell......

Solution 2
We only operate with two photographers. A mix of reportage and stages images, concurrent group shots and even just the ability to have four lens on camera bodies at any given time means that we're quick, prepared and any waiting is minimised.
